‘Like A Virgin’ – The 15th century song Comme femme desconfortée (attributed to Binchois) became the basis of a number of works by Josquin and his contemporaries Ghiselin, Agricola, Isaac, and Senfl. In this concert Nota Bene will explore Flemish polyphony through a woman’s eye. To be filmed at Avaloch Farm Music Institute to a private audience in August.

What is a Festival pass?
Nota Bene viol consort have been drawn together by their love of polyphony. The members are Sarah Mead (music director), Joanna Blendulf, Wendy Gillespie, and Emily Walhout. For this concert they will be joined by frequent guest Julie Jeffrey.
They will be playing on a matched set of Renaissance viols by Ray Nurse, based on instruments built in the 1580’s in Brescia.
